Singapore’s electric vehicle (EV) market is buzzing with options — but if you’re planning to buy one, now might be the best time to act. Starting January 2026, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will reduce several EV rebates, making today’s deals look even better.
Currently, cars under Band A1 of the Vehicular Emissions Scheme (VES) enjoy a $25,000 rebate, but that will drop to $22,500. On top of that, the Electric Vehicle Early Adoption Incentive (EEAI) will be cut from a maximum of $15,000 to just $7,500. Combined, this means the total savings for new EV buyers will fall from $45,000 to $30,000 next year.

Chinese brand Aion has made an impressive debut with the V SUV, blending luxury features with wallet-friendly pricing. The Premium variant (64.5kWh) delivers 435km of range, while the Luxury version (75.3kWh) goes up to 485km. Both produce 134hp and 240Nm.
Inside, you’ll find features like reclining rear seats, massage functions, and even an integrated mini fridge — uncommon perks for this price range. It rides smoothly too, with comfort levels that rival premium brands. Starting at $191,888 with COE, the Aion V offers serious value and refinement.
Tesla Model Y 110
Tesla has introduced a new Cat A-friendly Model Y variant for Singapore. With 147hp and 350Nm of torque, it offers a 62.5kWh battery and 466km of range — all for $211,365 with COE.
It’s quieter and more comfortable than before, now featuring a sleeker design inspired by the Cybertruck, a new rear touchscreen for passengers, and power-folding rear seats that expand the boot to over 2,100 litres. While it’s not the fastest Tesla, it’s easily one of the most complete electric SUVs you can buy under Cat A.
Volvo EX30 110kW
Volvo joins the Cat A EV market with its compact EX30, available in Plus (51kWh, 337km range) and Ultra (69kWh, 475km range) variants. Power output is capped at 147hp, keeping it within Cat A limits.
Despite its reduced output, the EX30 remains quick and nimble, with strong torque and confident handling. It’s small and easy to manoeuvre, making it ideal for city driving.
