The number "7" denotes its position in the range — above the upcoming Sealion 6 plug-in hybrid and the smaller Sealion 5 crossover.
Spacious and Smart Inside As you’d expect from a car this size, the interior of the Sealion 7 is generously roomy, especially in the rear. The flat floor creates ample legroom for three passengers, and despite the sloping roof, headroom remains surprisingly adequate. Rear visibility could be better, but the standard 360-degree camera system more than makes up for it during parking.
The seats are one of its highlights — plush, well-bolstered, and upholstered in premium quilted leather. Overall cabin design is minimalist, with a clean layout that resembles the BYD Seal more than the funky Atto 3.

How Does It Drive? In Singapore, the Sealion 7 is offered in two variants. The entry-level "Premium" trim comes with a single-motor setup producing 308hp and 380Nm of torque, good for a 0-100km/h time of 6.7 seconds — already impressive for a family SUV.
But for those who want real performance, the "Performance" variant tested here features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive system with a staggering 523hp and 690Nm of torque. It launches from 0 to 100km/h in just 4.5 seconds, making it one of the quickest family EVs on the market.
Despite its explosive straight-line speed, the Sealion 7 remains composed and controlled. Acceleration is brisk but smooth, and it doesn’t feel jerky or overwhelming. Where it really shines is in its comfort — the ride is refined, absorbing bumps with ease, and the cabin is whisper-quiet even at higher speeds.
Handling-wise, the Sealion 7 prioritises stability and comfort over agility. It’s secure and composed in corners, but the light and somewhat numb steering means it’s not a car aimed at driving enthusiasts. Still, for everyday use, it’s perfectly adequate.
