Looking for a way to boost your monthly income without juggling multiple jobs? The UAE’s Second Salary programme by National Bonds could be the answer. Launched in 2023, this innovative investment plan allows UAE residents to build an additional income stream by investing as little as Dh1,000 per month.
Created to promote financial stability and long-term security, the Second Salary programme offers a customised savings and income solution, complete with attractive rewards and cash prizes. National Bonds describes this initiative as part of a broader strategy to provide some of the most competitive retirement and savings options in the UAE.
“As the first savings plan of its kind, Second Salary is designed to empower individuals by delivering a personalised income-generating solution that helps maintain their lifestyle over time,” said National Bonds.
Why the Second Salary Programme Stands Out
Beyond the chance to earn a second income, participants benefit from National Bonds’ Dh35 million rewards programme. The longer you stay invested, the greater your chances of winning, with odds improving up to 30 times depending on your savings duration.
How Does the Second Salary Plan Work?
The plan consists of two key phases:
Saving Phase: You commit to depositing a fixed monthly amount — starting at Dh1,000 — into your National Bonds account. You can select a savings period from three up to ten years.
Income Phase: Once your saving term concludes, you begin to receive monthly payments. These payouts combine your original investment plus the accumulated profits.
Example Scenarios:
Saving Dh5,000 monthly for 10 years could yield monthly payments of around Dh7,500 for the following decade.
Saving Dh5,000 monthly for 5 years, and withdrawing over the next 3 years, might provide Dh10,020 per month during that income phase.
Additionally, customers can choose a lump sum redemption instead of monthly payouts to meet specific financial goals such as education expenses, a home deposit, or further investments.
“Offering full flexibility in both the saving amount and duration, as well as the income payout period, customers can tailor their Second Salary plan to create a secure supplementary income for the future,” National Bonds added.
Key Benefits at a Glance:
Start investing with just Dh1,000 per month
Earn monthly income during your chosen payout phase
Enjoy an expected return of 3.25% per annum, compounded monthly

Whether you want to build a financial safety net or plan ahead for long-term dreams, the Second Salary programme provides an accessible, flexible, and rewarding way for UAE residents to grow their income steadily.
